Quadratic PPT (and PDF file)
A lot of students (and I was one of them when I was taking Algebra!) ask, "Why do we need to do this?". Actually, these are good questions. Algebra is the building block for math, science, computer, business, and vocational education classes. By studying Algebra, students also learn critical thinking and problem solving - which is important regardless of the path taken in life.
Students are studying for the SOL test which is on Wed, May 21st. The Algebra SOL test is online and good practice sites include JLab and ePat (has to be downloaded). Both of these are good because they not only have questions online, but they give feedback right away and explain the proper way to do a problem.
Additionally, there is a more current version of the Algebra released test item available from VAs Department of Education. A review for the SOL is also available (just topics).
In addition to getting practice for the SOLs, students are studying quadratics (PPT and and PDF file).
